Mass Effect 2

Is anyone else massively dissapointed in this game?  I mean the story is still strong, but to me it feels like gears of war or Halo 2 with a deeper back story.  Console action hide n shoot shooter. 

I don't know, maybe because I thought Mass Effect was one of the better RPG's to come along in a while, maybe thats why I am disapointed, I mean top RPG's i've played in the last 5 years, Mass Effect is up there behind Fallout 3 and the witcher.  Maybe I am just missing the point. 

Seriously though:
Planet Scanning - FTW, probe launched.  Probe away
Why are the all guys you need to finish the quest 15 feet away, which speaks of laziness, can you please go talk to the guy on the other side of the room, thats just a big jaunt for me
Hide behind cover, we throw loads and loads and loads of bad guys, you run out of ammo, you get more ammo, then you fight a boss where you just run around for the right cover and finish him witha  heavy weapon.  Rinse, repeat

Maybe I am overly critical or maybe i just don't like console type games, or maybe i expected the sequel to be more like the original
